Here I Am On A Pretty Day

We are LOVING these spring days!
{well not so much the wind, but that's what you get living in the Texas panhandle!}

We woke up to a gorgeous morning and had to get out and enjoy it, so a trip to the park was in order!

We literally live next to a pasture... this is our neighborhood school's park at the end of our street and then, just green pasture for as far as you can see!

Her new favorite...
climbing up
{which she insists on doing herself, though I do stand behind her to spot, just in case}

All set, ready to go!

Its precious as she gets tickled every time she slides down!

Then we moved on to the swings...

Here I Am With My Girl

Guess who loves Chicken Fried Rice {and egg rolls} as much as her Mama does?!

Here I Am With Spring Fever

Thankfully not actual fever.
{and praying I'm not jinxing myself by writing that!}

But I've been trying to get some spring cleaning done!
 I cleaned out the pantry which definitely needed it!
Photobucket

I even cleaned out the cabinet my sis {in law} is scared to open when she stays at our house!
Fear no more, Creighton! Nothing is going to fall out of this cabinet any more thanks to some new clear containers to organize Claire's snacks!

Checking out the Easter eggs

{we're working on learning how to find them so she'll be ready for Easter morning!}

St. Patrick's Decor I made

inspiration came from Pinterest {of course}

which has already changed to Easter decor
Photobucket
another Pinterest idea

but I added my own twist
Photobucket
I don't have a tiny hole punch and the ones I practiced on with scissors just didn't cut it so I cut out the eggs from paint samples {thank you, Lowes!}; cut plastic straws into small pieces; hot glue a piece of straw to the back; then, use twine to string the eggs together!

Playing in the front yard

ah, love this season {of life}!

Here I Am With Our Rainy Day

It rained ALL day yesterday!!

This never happens!
So we had to get out of the house and enjoy it for at least a little bit
{in spite of it being 38 degrees outside!}

I pulled on my new rain boots
Photobucket
why  yes, they do have adorable navy blue bows on the back
{thank you MILove!}

I dressed the munchkin up in her ugg boots and ski coat
and set her free
Photobucket
needless to say, she had an absolute blast!

It quickly became too cold, mostly because she was playing in the running water
so we headed inside to warm her up and keep her busy.

  Her first time to play with play doh!
She wasn't sure what to think of it, but I made a few different shapes for her and she poked at it a little and threw most of it on the floor...
Photobucket

Then we busted out the finger painting.
She had way more fun playing with the hand and paint cups
than actually putting the paint on the paper, but we'll get there!

Here I Am With Our Ski Trip

 Sorry to post about another trip, I'm just playing a bit of catch up this week on some posts!

The weekend of my birthday, Canyon and I were supposed to go on a ski trip but due to a work emergency it had to be postponed. Thankful that we didn't have to just cancel it, we were able to get away the first weekend in March and enjoy a great ski trip, just the two of us.

Friday morning, we headed out of town! Planning to drive through Santa Fe, we excited at Cline's Corner and just as we pulled off the highway, we ran out of gas! Like literally across the street from the gas station, we were stuck! It was FREEZING cold outside but Canyon hopped out, ran across the access road and got some gas, that's him running back to the car.
Photobucket

We got that bit of excitement out of the way, we headed on to Santa Fe for an amazing lunch at the Chocolate Maven, a fantastic bakery and lunch spot. It's not off the square or in an area of Santa Fe I'd ever been to before, cause its actually in like a warehouse! But inside it was so warm and smelt of amazing pastries! If you're ever in the area, its a must go to!

We drove on up to Pagosa Springs  through a snow storm {this only time it snowed on us while we were there} and got settled into the condo we'd rented. We had a great trip skiing at Wolf Creek during the day, spending time at the spa and hot springs, enjoying a couples massage, and amazing meals {including two fantastic dinners at the Alley House Grille}, a little shopping, lots of relaxing and enjoying time just the two of us. We missed Bear, but knew she was having a great time being spoiled by her grandparents!

Instead of giving a play by play of the trip, I'll let the pictures tell the story...
Photobucket

I used the Ski Tracks app on my phone again, but had a few mishaps.
Day 1 I didn't hit start again after we stopped once or something so it only has like half of our runs tracked and Day 2 I forgot to stop it until we were halfway back to the condo. So as much as I would like to think I was skiing 75 mph, my actual top speed this trip was the 32.7 mph from Day 1.

The Hot Springs

The springs are such a quirky but fun thing! You're offered "a soak" in pools
of varying temperatures. Sooo relaxing after a day of skiing!

Such a fun trip!

Here I Am With Our Quick Trip

This is from a while back, but definitely want to include our quick little weekend trip to
Oklahoma City, OK in February.
{It's only about 4 hours NE of Amarillo, and the last time I'd been there was just passing through on my way to Kanakuk! So needless to say it'd been a while!}

We didn't have any plans for the weekend, so we loaded up and headed out for a family trip!
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
We didn't make it but an hour outside of town and
Claire was already over having to sit in her car seat.
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

I was ready to throw in the towel and head back home, but sweet Canyon
pulled over at the tiniest little gas station, picked up some snacks.
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

We let Claire walk around and stretch her legs a bit, and we loaded back up,
stuffed Claire with Cheeto puffs along the way,
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
 and eventually made it to Oklahoma City safe and sound
{with a very happy but very orange child}
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

We checked into The Skirvin, a beautiful hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.
It was built 100 years ago, but was also newly renovated, it was perfect!
 We splurged and stayed in a suite, which are actually in the curved part of the building you see in the picture above. These pictures are from the website but this is exactly what our room looked like.

Claire LOVED having all that room to run around and explore
{These were taken Saturday morning}
Photobucket

Especially the glass wall shower with no door...

We went over to Bricktown {an area with great restaurants, pubs, and bars...} and ended up at Bass Pro Shop. Claire loved the large aquarium with fish, but wasn't too sure what to think about all the stuffed animals decorating the store.

We made our wall to the Penn Square Mall and grabbed dinner at Cantina Laredo.

Claire loved the guacamole being made table side.

We woke up Saturday morning, fed Claire breakfast

and headed down to the pool!
 {This was probably what we looked forward to most about this trip!}

Here's another website photo
We didn't take our phones with us, but we ended up "swimming" in the hot tub as it was like bath water and just perfect for Claire!

After swimming we headed back upstairs for Claire's morning nap
while we got dressed and ready to head out.

We went to a few antique stores though we didn't find anything before heading to the outlet mall. Definitely found a few things there, and by the end of it Claire had had enough of her stroller, so we let her walk around.

So happy to be free!

Its funny looking back at this as she's so much more sturdy and strong when walking.

She also wanted to push her stroller instead of riding in it, can't really blame her though!

We packed up and while headed back we came across a Garden Ridge!
Goodness, I miss that store from my Houston days.

They have just a few rugs to look through...

We also went to Mathis Brothers furniture. A HUGE furniture store with a great selection, too bad we weren't really looking for furniture, but it was still fun to look through and will definitely be good to know for in the future!

Claire loved their push carts!

After the long day, Claire {who NEVER sleeps in the car, or anywhere else other than her crib} actually fell asleep in the car on the way back to the hotel. We were looking for some dinner so we just went back to the hotel's restaurant, which was amazing!
truffle oil pomme frites, an amazing chocolate dessert, and a great glass of wine!
Photobucket

It as a fancy restaurant where children aren't really invited,
but thankfully our worn out little girl slept the meal away in her car seat:
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
{She seriously hasn't done that since she was like 6 months old!}

She woke up just as our dessert arrived, which we ended up just getting it go and headed back up to our room. Fed her some dinner and put her to bed!

The next morning, we were up early thanks to our precious little alarm clock,
so we packed up and headed home.

We went through Garth Brooks' home town just outside Oklahoma City
... they're quite proud of that fact!

Thankfully, this leg of the trip was much smoother than the first
Photobucket

with a quick stop for some lunch and play time for Claire to run around
and even check out a huge bus {she loved the wheels}

Photobucket

we made it home with one tired and happy little girl!

All in all it was a great, quick get away for our little family!
